It’s been awhile. Unfortunately I was really busy with finals and then the girlfriend and I went on vacation for a week almost immediately after my finals were finished. I really needed that as I was getting ridiculously stressed out with school and finding my final co-op in order to graduate. Thankfully I found one and will be starting that next week!
In the meantime, that means I have PLENTY of time to focus on the site. I should be able to churn out content a bit more frequently now. I think I’ll also stray away from forcing myself to find some sort of scientific or mathematical topic for each post as well. It’s kinda hard to do that constantly.
The Hearthstone Part
Anyways, during finals I actually had quite a bit of “chill out” time. About half of my finals were project based, and therefore meant that I actually did them before they were due. Regardless, I did not have THAT much time to goof off, so I ended up trying Hearthstone out.
I was always curious about it because I’ve always heard great things about it. I’ve also always enjoyed card games like Magic: The Gathering among others. The only problem was that I did not have many friends that were as into them as I was. It was always boring playing against the same 3 people growing up.
Anyways, I’ve been really enjoying the game. It’s fun to play casually, and ranked mode is very fun and competitive. I think what sets Hearthstone apart from the other virtual card games I’ve played over the years is that I could actually build a deck from basic cards without spending money on it and actually climb the ranked mode a bit. Granted, I need to grab some booster packs and play the Arena mode to get some essential cards, but you can unlock all of that with in game currency.
I think my one complaint about the game is the mobile app. It’s VERY well made and surprisingly doesn’t seem to completely obliterate my battery like so many other mobile games. However, I really dislike that it is 2 GB of space. That’s a huge amount of space that it takes up on my phone.
